As heidi. prepare for their upcoming Europe tour, we managed to get the band to answer a few of our questions before it begins! Let's see what heidi. has to say before they [Fly High!]

VKH: To begin, would you please introduce yourselves and include one fact
that someone would not know about you!

Yoshihiko: I’m the vocalist Yoshihiko. I have naturally curly hair.
Nao: My name is Nao, I’m the guitarist. I like to take naps.
Kohsuke: It’s Kohsuke on bass! I’m quite a sensitive person.
Kiri: I’m Kiri and playing the drums. I like alcoholic drinks.

VKH: Up until now, you have had a good number of lives! Which ones do you
remember most fondly and why?

heidi.: In Tokyo the tour final of our 5days that we performed in Liquid Room Ebisu. We performed sooo many songs (33 songs), it was really extraordinary.

VKH: Do you still remember when you first played overseas? If so, what was
your first impression?

heidi.: For sure we remember!  We went to America and performed for the first time abroad. The audience got all excited and was really hyper!

VKH: How do you feel when hearing your fans sing songs with you during performances?

heidi.: We are able to feel some kind of unity. That’s really nice.

VKH: Are there places on your schedule you have always wanted to visit?

Nao: Yes, Slovenia. Due to personal reasons… :)

VKH: What other cities would you like to perform in?

heidi.: It’s not on the schedule this time, but if it’s Europe, London would be nice.

VKH: What are you expecting from your shows, the fans and yourselves?

heidi: In short: bodily sensation! It will be a special experience.

VKH: What are some things that you have on your "must-do" list?

heidi: To make some stops in bars, to eat typical food of each country we go to and to stop by in some music stores too!

VKH: Before, you guys would travel overseas once or twice a year. Is the international market improving for you?

heidi.: Actually we cannot say much about it because we have not been experiencing much about that abroad. But of course, the more you go abroad, the more you will get visible. People will start recognizing you.

VKH: You have been pretty active as a band in live performances, in general!
How do you stay energetic, or excite yourself for a concert?

heidi.: We are so energetic because we are able to perform concerts.

VKH: Where do you see your music going from here on out? Do you plan on taking any extreme risks in the next year or two or will you stick to the theme you have now for a while?

heidi.: Well, we cannot really picture what it will be what we will do next, yet we will keep on trying out new things in the future too.

VKH: Why did you choose this kind of music and a visual kei look instead of another genre and another look?

heidi.: It’s just because it was the music that we have been listening to.

VKH: Having been in the scene for a while, what do you think of today's trends in visual kei in general?

heidi.: Flashy make-up.

VKH: You have been together for 8 years! What do you think has kept heidi. going as a band?

heidi.: Maybe because we have all the same ambition to creating good songs…

VKH: How did the name "heidi". come to be? What is the meaning behind it?

heidi.: There is no meaning behind it. In the Japanese language it’s like the sound that you make when you laugh out and giggle.
(Note: it’s referring to the sound of laughing that is kinda close to the pronunciation of heidi. the Japanese way “haiji")

VKH: Who actually wanted to form the band?

heidi.: Nao.

VKH: How are you producing new songs? Does the whole band work together on one song or does every member make one song alone?

heidi.: Usually each member starts out composing on his own.

VKH: It's been a while since your last full album release, but we've heard that you plan on releasing a new one! What can you tell fans about it? What can they expect?

heidi.: Our new album is packed with a deep and intense dose of heidi. very best sounds. Please be sure to listen to it, when it’s released after our EU tour in May. Or if you have the chance, come to a live and check some of the new songs out there.

VKH: Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions! Would you please leave a message for your fans and our readers?

heidi.: We really are looking forward to our tour! Let go all out wild together!

Special thanks heidi. for taking the time to answer our questions and to to Kanzen Music for making this interview possible!
