Looks like Sadie has been up to a
lot lately! After coming out with their first DVD with 13 of their PVs on it,
then also deciding to be a part of another cover album for popular anime theme
songs, Sadie has now come out with their 15th PV. If you count Red
Line as their 14th.
Going
through all of Sadie’s past PV’s, fans know that Sadie is a pretty heavy visual
kei band. The band did not back away from their signature sound for this new
single.
The
song sounds to be a mix of a party anthem sound meeting their usual heavy metal
sound. Their PV also seems to show the mixture of the two sounds. While the
drums have a fill into the intro, Mao and the rest of the band come in with a
huge bang. Mao stands on the stage screaming through a megaphone as the band strums
out heavy chords at the same rhythm as the vocals then changing to a whirl wind
of scales for the ending of the intro before going into a short break towards
the 1st verse.
The whole PV has Sadie on a stage surrounded by fans, in what looks like a dark
club. Nothing but lights flashing everywhere, but what makes the PV even more
fun is the special effects. With a washed out color scheme the video has a grainy
feel to it, added with cool background special effects that flicker around.
The song seems to change from using screaming vocals to
clean vocals when changing from the verses and breaks. As the clean vocals are sung
for the chorus though, some phrases are followed by echoes from the band and
crowd. Which gives the song that party anthem feel. At 2:22 though is the fun
part of the song where Sadie gives us a small breakdown before going back into
the chorus then to the outro. Which is where their usual heavy metal feel is.
What
are the main instruments that stand out in this song? Mao’s voice and his
choice of melody he uses to sing for the lyrics, along with Mao choosing to use
the megaphone, the drums and the bass.
Surprisingly the guitars don’t have that big of a factor in this song. There is no solo in this song only a breakdown where you hear the guitars do a little something. The bass however, seems to follow its own melody when the guitars either aren’t playing or holding a note. Aki does a good job of working with his bass though, which is holding the foundation of the song with the drums but also having his certain times to shine. For instance at 2:13 you hear the bass do its own thing then making himself know even though he is in the background with his low note hits (thats where you hear that satisfying full sound). As for the drums, they are hard to ignore. Sadie had done a good job of having those drums very clear in the song, a big help with that was having bits of an electronic drum kit sound every once and a while throughout the song, where you first hear it at 0:27.

Overall this song is a fun one for sure. Have fun jumping
around to it! Also be on the lookout for Sadie’s 3rd full album said
to be available on October 10th!
