FASHION: Amai Furiku? 9

Amai Furiku?
-The sweet freak's guide to VK fashion

February has come and gone, it seems as though this year is going too fast! Welcome to March, a time of pancakes and daffodils. Spring time is of course the season in which bright colours (should) start appearing on trees, flowers and in our wardrobes!
This month, I've got some things in store for you that will be sure to help brighten your wardrobe.
As usual, click any photos to make them bigger!
But first, news!
You may remember me talking about the colour orange being set to be a trend in Japan this year. Well, other than this, clashing colours are set to be big worldwide for the summer. Think green with pink, fuschia with mandarin, pastels and brights. It seems as though anything goes with this trend. Finally I'm going to possibly be considered a little fashionable with my garish pink and red jumpers!

109 brand, Tutuha, is set to be opening a new store in Shinjuku this month. For those unfamiliar with Tutuha, it's main demographic is teen gals who prefer a darker, almost even gothic look within the gyaru vein. Think skulls, fishnets and (like the brand name) tutus.
I really look forward to visiting this store when we go to Japan!

Moving onto this month's main topic...
Japanese inspired Western accessories!
For many of us, particularly in the current financial climate, shipping and importing goods from Japan is a near impossible task due to tracked airmail prices being so high and the exchange rates constantly fluctuating.
I've done a little searching and found some brilliant western based companies that sell very Japanese inspired accessories that could fit with many Japanese styles.

As you can see, these accessories are bright and bold, perfect to welcome in the spring/summer sun.
H&M, pound/dollar stores and Cyberdog are currently my 3 favourite highstreet stores to shop for accessories in.
Cyberdog, for those who don't know, stock a supply of "kawaii" style accessories, including some pieces from 6% Doki Doki (you may remember seeing me with my Arigatou earring a couple of months back).
Cyberdog has a webstore and they ship worldwide.
First, let's have a look at the Acrylicana necklace.

I came across Acrylicana a little over a year ago whilst trawling through Deviant Art.
The cute and bright accessories are fun as well as easy on the wallet.
Acrylicana is US based, so for those of you within the US, postage is cheap and quick, but even from outside of the US, shipping isn't horrendous and takes very little time considering the distance it's travelling.
My diamond necklace was in fact a gift from Charles and was very much appreciated!

Acrylicana's designs include many influenced by 80s pop culture and Japanese culture.
There are loads to choose from and many different items also; bracelets, rings, hair clips, earrings, stickers etc.
An exciting move for Acrylicana is the up coming introduction of more products including shoes and clothing!
Check Acrylicana's etsy page here.

Next, my Hello Kitty ears!

This headband is an official product from Sanrio, sold in Claire's. I found this in the children's section of the store and at only £5 ($8). The fabric is really short, soft white fur with a pink satin bow on top. There was a label attached to the bottom of one side of the headband which made me ear itch, but it was easy enough to remove. Generally, it's an adorable item which always gets me complimented!

Next up, my handmade hair bows.

A shameless plug here, but I make and sell my own hair bows either mounted on hairbands or clips. On hairbands you can wear them as bracelets and on clips you can attach them to your clothes so either way you have 2 accessories in 1! Bows are a near necessity within Japanese fashion, applying to nearly all fashions. Lolitas, gothic lolitas, gals, decora, fairy kei and more. They just add a sweet touch to any outfit and bring a new texture and colour to more plain outfits. I'd recommend going for lighter pastel shades to match a full black or monochrome outfit.
Please contact me if you would like to buy some bows ^^ missescupcakeface@hotmail.co.uk
Here we have some Roxie Sweetheart hair slides.

These are made in a similar way to Acrylicana's jewellery, but they have a very different look and feel. There is a much more homemade feel to them which really lends itself to the fairy kei/Spank! aesthetic.
Roxie Sweetheart is a UK based brand that again is affordable and cute. They ship overseas too!
I actually won the above hairslides in a competition so thank you to Hyper Japan and Roxie Sweetheart for those!
Visit the Roxie Sweetheart site here.
Other than the above, I also love Cute Plush which is based in the US, Kreepsville 666 (which has recently become very popular in Japan with their kitsch, campy horror accessories and clothing) and of course, making my own accessories!

So that just about wraps up this month's edition. If you have any requests for future editions of Amai Furiku? then drop me a comment here, or email me at missescupcakeface@hotmail.co.uk.
