X JAPAN - Emergency Surgery for Drummer YOSHIKI + Future Tour Dates Postponed

The management for drummer YOSHIKI of X JAPAN has just sent out a notice to fans that he will undergo emergency cervical artificial disc replacement surgery on May 16th. The surgery will take place in Los Angeles and has been decided after deliberation from several doctors.

This is a result of the severe damage to his neck from his iconic, aggressive drumming style. YOSHIKI was diagnosed with cervical foraminal stenosis in July 2009 and his condition has continued to worsen despite previous surgeries. He has been suffering from a herniated disc that has only gotten worse in the past half a year.

As a result, all future tour dates for the band have been postponed until further notice. These include the upcoming dates of the WE ARE X 2017 tour in July, Yoshiki's Premium Dinner Show in August and September as well as their summer world tour.

YOSHIKI and his management are deeply sorry and apologize to fans and all involved for the inconvenience this has caused.

Stay tuned for further details as we keep a positive outlook for a successful surgery and his speedy recovery.
