X Japan has been all over U.S. media this past October with the nationwide rollout of the documentary film We Are X. The rock-doc has garnered mainstream attention from the likes of SPIN, Los Angeles Times, and Rolling Stone. Band leader Yoshiki has hosted sold-out Q&A screenings in L.A. Austin, and San Francisco.
New York is next on the list, where We Are X will make its Big Apple premiere at the newly-opened Alamo Drafthouse Brooklyn on Nov. 4. Both Yoshiki’s 7:30pm and 8pm Q&A screenings with fans have already sold out.
Fans who attend Q&A screenings with Yoshiki (Fri 7:30 and 8:00) and film director Stephen Kijak (Sat 6:30) have been encouraged to dress up in visual-kei fashion for a chance to win the newly-released exclusive (and sold-out) Mondo “We Are X” poster from celebrated comic artist Becky Cloonan, autographed by Yoshiki.
