X JAPAN - New Album + Documentary Film for 2016 Confirmed!


X JAPAN fans, rejoice! The influential metal band recently announced 2 very surprising announcements!

The first announcement is that the band will be releasing a brand new full-length studio album next year. This album will be the band's 6th overall and their first album after 20 years, following up after 1996's Dahlia. The unknown album is set to be released on March 11, 2016.

In addition, X JAPAN revealed they will be releasing a documentary film about their music career. It will premier on the following day, March 12, 2016 at London's SSE Wembley Arena. Labeled as "#XDAY", tickets for the event began sales on LiveNation since yesterday.

For now, that's all the information the band has revealed to their fans. The current events for the band include drummer YOSHIKI and vocalist TOSHI to perform together at Hyper Japan at London's O2 on July 11. The performance will start at 1530 and it will include the duo performing a new song from the album as part of their unplugged set.
