You may have noticed the hashtag #StayStrongRuki that has popped up on social media over the past couple of days. This is in response to the recent incident involving the GazettE's RUKI and his cosmetics brand VITAL MATERIAL.
Around August of last year, RUKI announced the start of the organic cosmetics line. Over the years, RUKI has been a constant creative force behind the band's merchandise. Ranging from art and album covers, to the Rad Market fashion brand. VITAL MATERIAL was his official foray into the cosmetic industry.
However, on April 4th without any announcement or noticeable changes to the brand, VM added new products to their site. However they also announced that these new products had no relation to RUKI himself.
Clearly something went wrong with the relationship between RUKI, PS Company and VM. RUKI then asked fans via Twitter to spread an announcement from PSC stating:
"The new products that are currently being released by RUKI's organic cosmetic brand "VITAL MATERIAL" has absolutely no connection to RUKI himself. In regards to the sales of these products which we had no intention for, we sincerely apologize to the fans and related persons for the trouble."
"Regarding the circumstances with VITAL MATERIAL, I'm really sorry to everyone for making you worry. Nontheless, I broke all connections with Vital. I still have so many things I'd like to do so if it's possible, I think I'll be able to try it a different way next time."

RUKI expressed his own sadness and frustration with the apparent betrayal of the VM brand. He went on to say that he had no choice but to break all connections with them. He apologized to the fans for the trouble and for making them worry:
VITAL MATERIALに関して、事情はどうあれ本当にみんなに心配かけてごめんね。ただ、VITAL〜でやれずじまいのまま終わった新たに自分がやりたかった事も沢山あるのでまた違う形で報告できたらなと思います。

Fans responded kindly on social media with the hashtag #StayStrongRuki, sending him words of encouragement. RUKI posted this image on his instagram with the caption "Stay Strong", proving that the support of the fans reached him.
While it is still not clear what really happened behind the scenes to cause this, or the future of VITAL MATERIAL, it seems that the biggest confusion is over for now. RUKI is trying to keep a positive outlook and the continued support from the fans will hopefully make this easier.
