Just a few days ago we interviewed VAMPS about their upcoming U.S. shows. To follow up with that short pre-tour discussion, we present you the B-side of it all - footage of SIXX:AM's experience in Japan.
SIXX:A.M. consists of Nikki Sixx (MÖTLEY CRÜE), guitarist DJ Ashba and vocalist James Michael. On February 19th, the band debuted overseas with their support drummer Dustin Steinke (BLEEKER RIDGE) at VAMPARK FEST (hosted by VAMPS) held at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. Along with VAMPS, SIXX:A.M. shared the stage with J-Rock bands [Alexandros] and SADS as well.
Playing in Tokyo at the VAMPARK FEST was an incredible experience for SIXX:A.M. I think it was a real turning point for us. We had never played outside of the country. For me, personally, playing at Budokan was a dream of mine since I was a little kid and heard Cheap Trick Live At Budokan. The fans were so gracious and so kind and so excited…
