Interview with landz.'s Vocalist towa

This time, we bring you a younger band named landz.! Since their debut in 2011, this band has released three singles, gone through a number of line-up changed, and then some. Now, we learn some more about the band through their vocalist, towa!



VKH: landz. has been around for almost three years! How do you you feel your music has changed/evolved in these past two years?

towa: If you listen to our singles, I think you'll understand.

VKH: What is the reason or meaning behind the band name, "landz."?

towa: It's our own original world.

VKH: Which songs would you recommend a new fan to listen to first?

towa: "Aru hareta gogo no sensou," (War on a sunny afternoon) and "Sweet Sleep Alice"

VKH: Is there a song you always play live? What's a fun song for the band to play?

towa: We play the above two songs a lot, I think a fun song to play would be "red child"!

 

VKH: Your latest single, "Alice in wonder landz." was released on May 21st. Please tell us about the concept behind the single. What is the meaning behind the lyrics in "Aru hareta gogo no sensou"? What are the themes in the songs coupled with it, "red child" and "Sweet Sleep Alice"?

towa: We created it with a gothic fantasy concept in mind. "Aru hareta gogo no sensou" is a poem that embodies our present feelings and emotions. "red child" has a dark fantasy theme, and "Sweet Sleep Alice" was written about the feelings of a stuffed animal.

VKH: If you were in Wonderland, what character would you like to meet?

towa: I think I would definitely want to meet Alice.
 

VKH: Where do you start when you work on a new song? Which member does what?

towa: The bases of the songs are written by haru. He outlines the song arrangements and the rest of the members flesh them out.
 

VKH: What is your favorite memory with landz.?

towa: I don't have a specific favorite memory, but every time we perform, everyone's enchanting view becomes a wonderful memory.
 

VKH: When was the first time you realized you wanted to be in a band?

towa: When I was in high school.

VKH: What was your childhood dream?

towa: Perhaps the prime minister or something?

VKH: What is something you can't live without?

towa: Right now, supplements and anime.

VKH: What are some of your hobbies, besides writing music?

towa: Playing video games, watching anime, and choosing supplements.
 

VKH: Do you have any future plans you can share?

towa: To enchant everyone with wonderful imagery.
