Sometime back we reported about the appearance of Visual-Kei bands, D=OUT and SCREW, at the Sundown Festival 2013 on 16th November 2013. Although we were unable to obtain a face-to-face interview with them, we were fortunate to get an email interview! Check out what they have to say about this trip to Singapore!
VKH: This will be the first time D=OUT will be performing in Singapore, how are you all feeling right now?
Kouki: It's like dreams come true because I've wanted to come to Singapore for a long time.
Ibuki: I've only seen Singapore on TV, so I'm really excited!
Hikaru: I'm really excited for this first visit. I'm very happy to meet all of the fans who have waited for us!
Reika: I'm looking forward to learning Singaporean culture in our first visit.
Minase: I'm very happy to visit Singapore (its one of my "must go to" countries) and meet all our fans who have waited for us.
VKH: There will also be a lot of other Asian artistes performing on the day itself, how does it feel being part of the artistes chosen and are you all excited for it?
Ibuki: It is an honor for us to play with other international artists.
Hikaru: It's a big honor! Looking forward to it!
Reika: As D=OUT style, we want to show the live only D=OUT can do!
Minase: I welcome this opportunity to enjoy various kinds of music together in one festival, beyond nationality and genre.
VKH: So far has anyone traveled to Singapore on their own? If yes, share brief experience. If no, what is your impression of Singapore?
Kouki: I haven't been to Singapore so far. I will enjoy lively Merlion.
Ibuki: I haven't been to Singapore so far but I know it's a beautiful country with Merlion!
Hikaru: I haven't been to Singapore so far, but it seems like a really beautiful country.
Reika: I haven't been to Singapore, so I'm really looking forward to it. I want to meet Merlion!
Minase: I haven't been to Singapore, but I think it's a beautiful and great country.
VKH: Is there anything special any of you would like to do in Singapore?
Kouki: Enjoy my vacation! I want to try many things I couldn't do in Japan.
Ibuki: I want to take a picture with Merlion.
Hikaru: Sightseeing and food!
Reika: Hmmmm? I will decide when I get there!
Minase: I want to try Singaporean cultural things as much as possible and learn about Singapore.
VKH: Sales of J-Rock CDs are very rare to find in Singapore, thus the popularity of it will be lower. Will it be possible to develop into the Singapore market?
Kouki: We really want to release our CD in Singapore so we're waiting for the contact from the Singaporean record company!
Ibuki: We want to release our CD here. Maybe it will happen if there are some requests from Singaporean fans!
Hikaru: It will be great if we can!
Reika: We really want to release our album here!
Minase: Please! It will be awesome if we can!
VKH: Kouki once sang 'Aisuru Hito' in Mandarin. Is there a possibility that it will happen during the event? (or even for other songs)
Kouki: I want to sing!! I hope I can get some requests from fans on which songs they want to hear!
VKH: Lately, many of your songs have influences of traditional Japanese music and instruments - what motivated this? Only a few Visual-Kei bands such as Kagrra, another PSC band, have done Visual-Kei in such a way - did you look to bands like that for direction? Do you see this new style of yours as a new type of Visual-Kei?
Kouki: I don't think about that a lot, but I love Japanese artistic style so I really value it.
VKH: Any last message for Singapore fans?
Kouki: Finally, we are having our live in Singapore! We will love all of our fans who have waited for a long time! And for other fans, please enjoy Japanese representative, D=OUT's performance as well!
Ibuki: I want to meet all of the fans as soon as possible! Let's enjoy the live together!
Hikaru: I'm excited to meet all of the fans who support us a lot! Let's enjoy it!
Reika: We will do our own music which can't be done by other artists! So please look forward to it!
Minase: I'm very happy to meet all of the fans and let's fully enjoy this precious moment together!
