Recently, we've had a chance to interview RYO:SUKE about his solo project WING WORKS! He answered questions about being a solo artist, his motivations and inspirations as a musician and future plans as well as a few questions regarding his recent release VAD†MAN~sorry, this is ”MACHINATION”~!
VKH: To begin, please introduce yourself to everyone!
RYO:SUKE: I'm RYO:SUKE from WING WORKS.
VKH: How did you decide on the name "WING WORKS"?
RYO:SUKE: The "WING" motif best matched the image of the music I make.
VKH: What is it like being a solo artist as compared to being in a band?
RYO:SUKE: It feels like I'm expected to express my own values and sense of self more strongly than when I'm in a band. At the same time, I also feel that there is the potential to have a bigger influence on society.
VKH: You went from being a bassist to a vocalist, what made you decade to do that?
RYO:SUKE: I felt it was necessary to go from my role as one part of a band to where I'm at the center as a solo artist to express the music I've created.
VKH: Where did the concept of your PV's song "VAD†MAN~sorry, this is ”MACHINATION”~" come from?
RYO:SUKE: It started out with me feeling that in order to bring about a revolution in this world we need to start a "conspiracy."
Me personally, I believe that now is the time when both the Japan I live in and the world as a whole have to move forward to the next step.

RYO:SUKE: How wonderful Visual Kei is.

RYO:SUKE: I was generally inspired by the sounds of EDM, dubstep and brostep.
