Review: Undivide - The Catalyst

Sujk and Leda are best known for their roles as drummer and guitarist, respectfully, in the heavy, boundary-pushing Deluhi with their rock-star attitude and pounding music which let them rise rapidly to the top of the Visual Kei scene. Since their disbandment just over a year ago, some bands and smaller projects have tried to fill the void left behind. Undivide is the latest project from Leda featuring Sujk as well as vocalist Kihiro (Loka/ex. Supe).

Track List
1. The Catalyst
This is a small, one-track single from the band to get their sound out there in anticipation for their full album release scheduled for September. With such big names in the picture, the band have already set a high bar and fans will not be disappointed with what is on offer.

The song, titled as the single itself, "The Catalyst", is a fast-paced, Deluhi-esque mixture of unique, raw vocals; Leda's well-known high quality, fast guitar playing and Sujk's heavy drumming. Everything a veteran fan of these musicians could expect can be found within, from a classic Leda solo to well-placed tempo shifts.

One song is almost unfair to release as you are left wanting more once it's over, but at 4:56 there is enough there to keep fan's needs satiated until their full-length album release, "Undivide", out September 5th.

This band certainly could have a bright future as the music is all there and such big names will help them get recognized. The single is available on iTunes for just £0.99 (~ $1.50/120円) so please support the artists and purchase this single as well as their album when it comes about.

  1. Great post.
I was/am fan of DELUHI, and I'm really interested in this new project form Leda and Sujk. I listened The Catalyst, and I really loved this song.

In the other hand, I feel I can't wait until Sept for heard the new album. I have great hopes about that work.
