Versailles going on Hiatus

Some unfortunate news for Versailles fans. Versailles has announced that they will be stopping all activities by the end of this year.  They don't have a clear direction of where they wish to go in the future. They haven't said that they are "disbanding" per say but it is unclear on how long the activity stop will last.

They have written a message to overseas fans as well:

An Important Announcement From Versailles:

Dear Enduring, Loyal Supporters,

We would like to announce that Versailles has decided to stop all activities by the closing of the year.
Being our 5th anniversary -- and without a clear direction heading into the future - we have decided it was in the best interest of the band and the music, our staff and supporters, in order to pursue our artistic and personal goals outside the current framework, to stop all our activities by the end of 2012.

Since the beginning the "ROSE" has played a central role, both thematically and symbolically, for Versailles. The "ROSE", which is also the title song of their 5th anniversary single, is about birth, becoming and being - in short, their story to the world.

The band will release their farewell album September 26th and tour domestically soon afterwards. On December 20th, Versailles will have their grand finale which be performed at NHK Hall in Tokyo.

Please come and show your support to Versailles and their final journey.

  2. Definitely don't panic. :) I think they are just regrouping. Most likely they want to re-evaluate where they want to go, musically, and come back together under a different mission. I say wait and see what happens.

  3. It has been confirmed as only a short hiatus. Their manager told all the street teams that in Japanese, the message says hiatus but when translated it changes to disband. It just got lost in translation, that's all it is. They aren't disbanding. The manager is trying to change the message so when translated it says hiatus! People don't panic >.<

  4. It's as Mangamaniac and SBEEC said.
They only wish to find themselves, then return with a better idea of what they want to do.
I know there was a lot of confusion about this post as it was taken down for a moment, then reposted, then there were claims that the sites were hacked, but there was no hacker and this is NOT a final farewell!
They have plans on coming back, so just look forward to the future and hope they do their best! ;)
