REVIEW: Seremedy No Escape PV

After being introduced to Seremedy earlier this year, along with hearing what their lead guitarist Yohio can do, Seremedy came out with their first new PV, No Escape. As for a video that was done with what looked like a small amount of staff from the PV preview that was posted in early July, the PV turned out great!
This song is heavy, totally headband worthy! Also if you like any of the metalcore American bands just as much as you love Jrock and visual kei, this song could find its way into your collection of music easily. Want to know a plus? This whole song in is English my friends!

Right as you click play, its head first into a driving riff, to a small slowdown that sounds a bit galloping with rhythmic strumming then to a total slow down for the first verse. With the first few lyrics, “So many voices inside my head…” the fact that the band chose to pause was a perfect choice! It made an illusion of suspence. Once the bridge comes in there is the really heavy driving riff again. When the chorus comes in it’s a slow headbanging groove with vocals that seem like they fly. Most likely the vocals sound that way due to the effect of two singers singing, and reverb (echo) as an adding effect. Maybe it’s Seremedy’s take on the Jrock signature of sounding poppy because when it comes to the tone of the rest of the song, it is nothing but a dark tone.

At 2:44 is where Yohio has his very epic solo that adds pretty well to the darkness of the song and a great change to the ears since the song keeps the same sound throughout most of the song. The solo also seems to sound a bit whimsical.

Now that I don’t need to translate the lyricsc to know what this PV is about, Seike seems to be murdering people without knowing it was him that was doing it. Taking the lyrics into consideration, it seems as though Seike is possessed by Yohio who is killing everyone, as Seike is remembering everything throughout the
video.

If you want to hear more of the band, check out their website that they just put up.

Also if you want their new single No Escape from their debut album that came out July 25, it is now available on iTunes!

  1. I really liked this PV, and I really like the song, but I have just one problem with the band as a whole. I really like Yohio, and I really like Seremedy, but I don't care for them together. Yohio doesn't really look like he fits with the band. He looked out of place in this PV with the other 4 members having a darker look, and them doing a darker song as well. I think Yohio looked much more at home in his solo PV Sky Limit.
