Pain. Grudge. Sorrow. Fury. Delete. Headache. Hang up. Dizzy.
On a pounding techno beat, the GazettE made their entrance. A furious intro for a furious live. OMEGA Venomous Cell Finale, hosted at Yokohama Arena, was a dark concert. With a fast paced psychedelic slideshow reflecting on Ruki's gloves, Venomous Spider Web opened the live. It was definitively TOXIC.
The upbeat song was followed by the angry Sludgy Cult's guitars, a David red star reigned in the background. Without a moment to rest, Vortex, a favorite, joined up. Many songs denouncing the music industry's behaviour were included in the VC tour. We were greeted by Aoi's kiss and Ruki's middle finger:

"Vortex of industry."
The most surprising song was without doubt Suicide Circus. Excellent live, I would dare to say better than the album version. The tic tak intro and the darkness of the scenery make of the song an emotional peak. The song displayed how the band perfectly grasped the poisonous feeling coming from the TOXIC album and mastered it during the tour. Ruki was also dancing, which is a candy for the eyes.
Underneath the underneath, came Ruthless Deed. Pure toxicity, this song set an extremely violent atmosphere. The GazettE is angry and they want us to know it.
"I looked at the human truth. This is a fact."
Chijou and Untitled came after violent songs and allowed the fans to catch their breath. Chijou was a toxic ballad in its own way and Untitled brought a softer feeling, sadness, while a single candle was lit and falling stars danced.
The GazettE's live destroy : Clever Monkey. The song hit the crowd stronger than madness. Aoi was seen rocking on Uruha's guitar solo, enjoying the live as much as the fans do. Or maybe was he following the lyrics "Dance until you die"?

Vermin, Headache Man and Filth in the Beauty followed as a natural progression. The GazettE was back to its origins for a brief moment. To end this violent wave, Psychopath threatened to eat the crowd like a giant shark. The first part of the live ended on a hopeful note with Tomorrow Never Dies. Ruki's vocal and Uruha's guitar solo was a sweet reminder of the stand out solo of the song Cassis.
Infuse Into and Omega are not to be taken lightly. More than a horror slideshow, it is filled with symbolism. Terrorism, wars, religion, control, crimes. You will need to watch the slideshow on slow motion to identify the images. It is disturbing and probably the most toxic.
ENCORE
The encore was refreshing and uplifting. Reita and Kai offered us a new version of Ride with the Rockers. Very satisfying for Reita's fans; the heat rose when Uruha and black veiled long skirted Aoi joined the ride. Remember the Urge was also a refreshing beat, a summer song. On a clear white scene, Uruha's solo (who was also dressed in white) was breath taking.
"Disturb your enemy."
The playful song Akai One Piece lived up to the fans expectations. The GazettE playful mood invaded the crowd. Probably the best performance of the live, this very high energy song never disappoint. Hyper Gaze men ran around the stage and approached the crowd. You could feel their joy of being on stage. (Can you count how many times Ruki jumped?)
Followed by the classics Cockroach, Discharge and Linda -candydive pinky heaven-. At this point on, I was too much immersed into the live to take note of what was happening, but this is good, isn't it?
A small note, the double encore song Kantou Dogeza Kumai was not included on the regular version of the DVD. There is unfortunately no long MC. I greatly miss the old school MC.
OMEGA DVD was No.1 for many weeks on the Oricon chart. Please support and respect The GazettE by buying the DVD instead of downloading the material.
