Hmmm... I don't know where you get your info, but the drummer is named Rami.... and he's never been "Haruma". It also says all of this on their OHP which I think wouldn't be too hard to check before posting anything.
He probably renamed himself, since many sites with amber gris profiles say his name is Uma or Haruma. It also says "amber-gris-uma" im his ameba link. That's what made me think that this is his name.
And don't worry, I'm checking their HP and even more sites to get sure (believe it or don't). I'm doing this job quite a long time already, so I know where to check. I'm afraid I'm simply not as good as you with japanese.
I'd suggest using one of the many sites on the internet where you can get the romaji-reading for Japanese, it helps a lot! Also, it clearly says on their OHP under this picture you also have on this post, that the name is ラミ (Rami), so whatever his name has been before (it's just Uma by the way and he's been Rami for at least well over a year now) and it's said on the OHP where you got your info. You also say that you checked that his ameblo is "amber-gris-uma", missed the Twitter link with "amber-gris-rami" there then? It's a pity one can't change their ameblo username yet... I don't mean to sound mean per se, but it just irks me that you claim to have done this for "quite a long time already" but can't get the guys' names right even though you "know where to check" because clearly you're checking from the wrong sites then, even last.fm has his name right and it's not like they're an underground Sapporo-based band that only plays at their highschool-festivals.....
It doesn't happen often that this site I'm checking is wrong. We're all just human, things like that happen. If you write news articles, I'm totally sure you'd do mistakes as well.
I got the pictures from their HP. If I mentioned every site I even got their names from, the list of sources would be quite long. I also needed to write down every site I read their names for the very first time when I'm still remembering them.
Yes, they're quite well-known. However, ppl get things wrong sometimes and use the wrong information. That's not the first time things like that happen to well-known and unknown bands. Uma has been the short form of Haruma btw. Most called him Uma, but apparently Haruma wasn't wrong as well.
In all honesty, I don't see a reason to argue because of this. It's not like we're that unable to get things right that we're starting to spread idiotic rumors. Fans of amber gris know we took the wrong name, ppl who don't know them won't remember their names anyway. And if they became interested in them thanks to us, they'll do some researches on them and find out what his real name is. I'm sorry I freaked out a little, but it just makes me angry when someone tells me I should check HPs, what I did (!), but apparently not good enough.
wow you guys made me wants to join this conversation..XD actually as I know, his name 悠真 is read as Yuuma, and write as Uma, proved with tattoos in his fingers which read u-m-a. and that was his name in the beginning of amber gris. he called himself uma in his blogs, because that was his name before, when he was with beaU. but later he change again his name into rami, which he ever used that name when he joined ensoku. and I ever saw page which made his name's diagram refers to his old bands (he ever been in 7 different bands), and he used some names such as Yuuma, Uma, Rami, Raminosuke and Haruma (not in chronological order)
well actually name in visual kei scene isn't something which have to take as a big problem, because in so many time they just change names as they wish.. usually when a band disbanded, then the members make-up a new band, and they will change their name too. because mostly that's even not their real name, just a stage name.. ^^

Correction of first comment: in instead of im ~
ReplyDeleteAnd I found my mistake.
He used to call himself 悠真 (Haruma), Rami is a new name.
