King Records establishes a kid's label

King Records Strategic Marketing has established a new label titled SukuIku, which will focus on goods for children. The homepage for the label was opened back on April 16th. The name “SukuIku” is a abbreviation combining the Japanese words “sukusuku” (quickly) and “ikuji” (childcare), with the added bonus of using the first two characters of the word ’school’ in Japanese (suku-ru). Suku♪Iku plans to operate under the concept of producing kid-friendly music and goods that’s aware of not just parents, but also kindergartens and school teachers as well.Suku♪Iku’s homepage sports an adorable design, featuring two baby chicks named Sukku and Ikku who guide you through all the merchandise available on the site. The genres listed on their homepage include a wide variety of themes, including “Learning Music”, “Baby and Prenatal Music”, “Nursery Rhymes / Children’s Songs”, and more. Additionally, the ‘King Kids Twitter page that the company had been managing will continue as the ‘Suku♪Iku Twitter‘, providing followers with news updates, event news, introductions of products, and so on.Their first plan is release the first of the “King SukuIku Selection” series on July 11th, which will continue for ten volumes. The CD will include selections from previously released CDs such as “Chiiku ~Kuku no Uta~“, “Teiban! Kodomo Hit Song“, and “Eigo no Uta” at a reasonable price, making the series appear to be a regular product in their line-up.Over the years, King Records has handled over 600 titles varying in genre from kids to classical music, and even jazz. Their children’s album “Utatte Oboeyou! ~Kuku no Uta, Kenchoushozaichi” has sold over 30,000 copies to date, hinting that their new label might be a similar hit.
