D is out with a new PV, and wow does it sound different!
This isn’t the heavy power metal like Der König der Dunkelheit was, or heavily
cultured like Huang Di ~Yami ni Umareta Mukui~. This song sounds like it could
be an intro to an anime. Kind of like Day by Day but this song is a bit heavier
than that. Haha that probably didn’t help with trying to explain the song did
it? Sorry. But these guys have yet to let us down with any of their songs or
PVs.
The song starts with some high toned chords for the melody
before the rest of the band comes in with a lower end of the spectrum. Every
once and a while, within the song the lead guitar comes back in giving the song
its "poppy" feel. While Asagi sings in his comfortable range, nothing too low or
high. The song has a steady beat from the beginning to almost end, with a
really awesome melodic solo in the middle. The rhythm change is towards the
end, cued in by the drums. From there it keeps the steady beat from before then
goes into a bit of a breakdown to keep you paying attention with a choir to back
up Asagi. It’s a great change and transition, as well as totally sick for the
type of tone that is pushed through.
The video does have a bit of a plot; however it’s nothing
like your over the top theatrical PV. The whole story takes place in the same
setting where the guys are playing on a metallic stage surrounded by a chain
linked fence and spitting fire ever so often, giving off a very eerie, dark
feeling. From what I can understand (without looking up the translation of the
lyrics) Asagi is leaving the dying message, “Change your Future.”
Throughout the video you see the scenes switch back from Asagi going abosolutely mental, then back to the band. At one (or two) points you see Asagi dead, carrying on the full effect that it was his dying message. With the other frames in the PV that show the world and cities, I can’t help but think that it means that it was life that was pushing him towards his “death”. Don’t quote me on it though! This is just what I’m getting from the PV.
