Taking a look at their music and fashion, allow me to show you a short part of website Japan Underground's description of the band. They published a very nice article, including how to pre-order their new release in Europe here.

Broken Doll combine Japan’s kawaii culture with pop-punk party beats, wrapping it up in bright colours and cute accessories. One reason their visual style is so vibrant is partly due to its guitarist Kensuke, who also runs a quirky fashion brand and boutique with the same name as the band.

Broken Doll members are:

Vocalist Sachi (second from the left)
Vocalist & Guitarist Kensuke Iwai (on the right)
Vocalist & Bassist Mii (second from the right)
Drummer Yumaronta (on the left)

The band also uploaded a demo on youtube for their song "Reach For The Sky"! Please check it out:

So, what do you think about them?

  1. I started listening to Broken Doll a couple weeks ago (courtesy of the Japan Underground review / links) - love the sound, love the look and the vibe. I've pre-ordered 'Reach for the Sky' and will get in touch with Kensuke Iwai to ask permission to maybe include a couple of short extracts from the album for a review in the podcast I've recently started.

I think what is so appealing about Broken Doll is they've managed a perfect fusion of Bow-Wow-Wow-esque punk rock with Japanese subculture and a beautiful fresh kawaii-ness. I really hope they make it over to London sometime as I'd love to see them live.
