Amai Furiku?
-The sweet freak's guide to VK fashion
Welcome back once again to Amai Furiku?! I have another model highlight for you this month, but before that, a new brand spotlight!
Quaintrelle Anarchist is a newly started indie company, run by the lovely Isabelle, based in the UK. She has all sorts of wonderful handmade and vintage goodies on offer and can cater to a plethora of different styles including mori girl, fairy kei, lolita, and more!
We recently had the chance to photograph her creations (as well as Isabelle herself) in an exclusive photoshoot for her new webstore! Click on the images to see them larger. All photos by Charles Shepherd.
Here I am modelling some of her handmade accessories which include a fun ice cream headband, Minnie Mouse necklace, aqua rabbit phone holder, and bobble hat clip. These items would all fit really well with a more Spank!-esque fairy/pastel kei style, and also cross over into lolita and decora territory.
Here is Isabelle working a very cute and kitsch lolita look with the ice-cream alice-band, strawberry cake neckalce, pink vintage neckscarf, ballet shoes ring and cherry love jumper. These items look fun and sweet with her retro take on lolita.
Here I am with a cute and creepy gothic look that we wanted to loosely base on Japanese schoolgirl style. I'm wearing the panda short sleeved jumper, piano ring and tombstone hair clips.
Isabelle wanted to go for a more polished mori girl look with this outfit. She's wearing the Rilakkuma skirt, pearl beaded pussy bow blouse, vintage belt, chocolate cake necklace, mini top hat and ice-cream clip.
Isabelle's unique personal tastes and influences range from Japanese fashion to European black metal, and with her brand, she wanted to create items that anyone can rock! For more photos from the set, visit the Quaintrelle Anarchist facebook page, and for an insight into Isabelle's influences and day to day life, please visit her tumblr and blogspot!
The official Quaintrelle Anarchist webstore is now open here.
So, I'm sure you're all wondering (unless you scrolled past here already...) who this month's model highlight is on?
This lovely lady is another model with a more tomboy-ish aesthetic, but she manages to wear it well within gal!
Her hair is probably the first thing that sets her apart from most Egg models (who, for the most part, have long, luscious, flowing blonde locks) as she has always kept it short and choppy, with a half fringe. She is sometimes seen sporting extensions, but she tends to go with a more "punky" image than the other Egg gals.
She has her own "shop" on the popular dress up game site "Poupee Girl"
Modelled for popular gal brand Cocolulu
Made appearances on stage at large gal events (Shibuya Campus Summit 2011 above)
And has even produced a fashionable weight loss aid called the "Rock pelvic belt"!
(available here)
She's also featured in an Ayaman Japan video!
Her casual and comfy look is often spiced up with some glitz and glamour these days, seen most recently in an issue of Egg going with a pink x black theme bordering between rokku kei and punk.

As Kanako has gotten older (although she is still only just past 20!), her style has not changed, as much as evolved, and transformed into the strong personal style we know her by today. I am always happy to see her and her cheeky grin gracing the cover of Egg magazine, and I love that she is one of the gals at the forefront of the more tomboy end of the spectrum.
To find out more about Kanako, as well as updates from her, please check out her official website and her ameba blog!
That's all for this month's edition, folks! See you next time~
