BORN are well-known for their sleazy, sex-filled music and promotional videos as well as their mixture of aggressive and more harmonious sounds. This is a band who are very consistent in their releases and do not fail to please with their latest single release, “Psycho Diva”.

On first listen, this album definitely had that distinct BORN sound and not just because of Ryouga’s unique vocals. The rest of the band work hard to bring a very special sound to them; K and Ray on Guitar, KIFUMI on Bass and TOMO on drums.
The title track, “Psycho Diva”, is one of the more aggressive songs and, as is quite common with many of BORN’s songs, mixes electronic sounds with heavier metal sounds. This comes together nicely with a blend of shouting and singing to form a catchy and well-formed song from the band.
“Damned” has very interesting acoustic work with an almost Spanish sound and is a bit calmer on the shouting side of the vocal work. Overall, this song is a bit experimental for the band but they somehow bring parts of it back to their normal sound to make it fit in well.
The final track of the single and it’s conclusion, “Dirty Stacker”, is a very catchy closing and leaves you wanting more of that BORN sound. This track, along with the title, remind me of their “Red Desire” release which is just a testament to how they stick to their sound well.
