  1. westerners always view Japanese as these aesthetic poets living in a monastic state is the aestheticism slowly leaving with each generation. i like to think that the poetic fountain that is japan's popular definiton is in all Japanese or is it being shunned-- do students laugh at westerners for foolishly equating Zen and Japan? visual Kei seems to keep this alive but does mainstream feel the same way?
