FASHION: Amai Furiku? 4 (VERY image heavy)

Amai Furiku?
-The sweet freak's guide to VK fashion

Sorry for the delay of the article this month, but we wanted to bring you something extra special this month!
Again, it is very image heavy, but trust us, it's worth it. Just click on any image to see it bigger.

On Sunday October 3rd, myself and Charles attended an event in London called Hyper Japan. It's a new event, so we weren't really sure what to expect. However, we set out to spend the day scouting for interesting people with great style!

Hyper Japan itself, wasn't an event purely about fashion; there were many food stalls, stalls for help with travelling to Japan, movies and figurines too! However, first and foremost, we were there for the fashion and food.
As we walked in, we were handed nice carrier bags from the Japanese wig and hairpiece company, Loves Change. These bags most certainly came in handy!

The first group of people we stopped were these three cute girls wearing punk and lolita inspired oufits. They said their main inspirations were Japanese bands and lolita looks. The girl on the right had very pretty, elegant makeup, with doll like eyelashes. The girl on the left had slightly darker, heavier makeup to fit more with the punk-loli look. The young girl in the middle was wearing what could almost be seen as Spank! style clothing.

Next we saw an amazing couple of people. The guy had a green/yellow mowhawk and was wearing black and leopard print brotherl creepers. His outfit was very reminiscent of British 70's punk style with a more refined edge. He said the main places he goes to shop are shops around Camden in London.

The girl with him had amazing thinly dreadlocked hair with a few dreads dyed blonde. She also shops a lot around Camden and she said her main influences are Victoriana, punk and of course, the Japanese. Here they are both pictured with Asahi beer just out of shot.

We also met a nice lady who had her hair a wonderful shade of orange, and cut into an undercut style. She wore a lot of black including some all black brothel creepers. She had 2 facial piercings in her lip; one in her top lip and one in her bottom lip which had black jewellery in them. She said she gains influence for her style from all over the place and that her favourite genre of music is electronic.

Next, from afar, I spotted this lovely girl wearing cosplay of Miyavi. We were very surprised to find that she had made the whole outfit herself! Her accessories included chains and a Sex Pot Revenge necklace, as well as the obligatory side-on baseball cap. She said her favourite singer is Takeru from SuG ("but he is harder to cosplay!")

We also saw a friend of ours named Emilie. She was wearing a wonderful Victorian-esque ensemble including a fur gillet and an elaborate headpiece. Emilie is very into the elegant and aristocrat side of lolita. She was talking to me about how she was incredibly tempted buy a pair of Moi meme Moitie socks!

Finally, we met an absolutely wonderful lolita wearing Angelic Pretty. She wore a gorgeous pink wig with cascading curls which matched perfectly with her purple and pink dress. She said she has been interested in lolita for about 4 years. She always buys brand and often will buy it from "new auctions" on Yahoo Japan.

At the event, as well as the amazing visitors, there was an amazing guest; Misako Aoki!
For those who don't know, Misako Aoki isthe Ambassador of Cute for Japan and is a regular model for magazines such as Kera.

She was wearing a cute pink JSK on Sunday with incredibly flawless, shiny and sparkly makeup.

On the stage, she was interviewed and she said that for the 3 days she had been in London, she had really enjoyed shopping in charity shops and she really liked how she found so many very fashionable dresses being sold there.

Here are some excerpts from her interview;

How is it to be a cute ambassador?
-"At the beginning, it was a big jump and there was lots of pressure on me. It is nice to bring lolita to the world, and I am really happy that I took this job and have now met lots of people around the world!"

When asked about co-ordinating lolita;

-"I love pink so I make sure to wear pink in my outfits everyday."

Misako on "kawaii";
-"Even in London, it is nice to see people using the word Kawaii! Cute has travelled!"

Also on the stage was UK lolita, Tania Tanzil. She is very beautiful and was also very eloquent in her answers on stage. She was wearing a dress from Baby the Stars Shine Bright's sub-brand Alice and the Pirates. Her outfit had a much more goth-loli feel to it than Misako's very pink, sweet lolita outfit.
Tania was asked if she likes tea parties and cake shops etc and what her favourite sorts of cake are. She answered that her favourites are definitely fresh pastries.

During the interview on the stage, the concept of Kera was discussed;
What is the concept of Kera?
-"The concept is for girls to choose their own style, enjoy this style and add their own cute elements."

The day was wonderful, informative and everyone was so friendly and lovely! After this, as we were wondering around the venue, I saw Misako in the crowd ahead of me. I followed along and had my picture taken with her! She was very sweet and despite speaking very little English, she was very polite.

Later that day, I went back to the Kera stall to buy (yet more) issues of Kera. When I did, I was greeted by Misako! She had signed the issues I bought (she has a very cute signature!) and I felt so silly, I kept bowing slightly and repeating "ARIGATO!!"
They saw my hoodie and asked to look at it. I was wearing a Kuromi hoodie. As I turned around to show my back, I was met with adorable squeals from Misako of "AH KUROMI-SAN! KAWAIIIIII!!" They asked me if I had made it, and I felt rather embarrassed to say no! They asked where I bought it, so I told them Ebay, to which they all were saying "ahh sugoi!!" Again, I bowed slightly and must have said "arigato" about 5 times before saying bye.

Fashion magazine haul

I bought 4 back issues of Kera, 1 S Cawaii and 1 Koakuma Ageha

There is so much else to talk about, but I shall have to leave it here as the rest is not fashion based.

For now I will leave you with some of our other favourite shots from the day!

  5. Every now and then a new design is added, but you've actually got a lot of control over how you approach styles.https://www.luxtime.su/gucci-bags
